Last Friday I went to London to do some research for one of my uni assignments and as we were heading from Waterloo station to the Louis Vuitton Series 3 Exhibition, my friend Aya and I stopped to take some snaps on the Golden Jubilee Bridges in Southbank. Although I wasn't feeling especially photogenic thanks to the early wake up call, I really wanted to share this outfit.
I chose to wear my relatively new suede patchwork skirt from Zara which I thought was an absolute steal at only £39.99 considering it's real suede. The colours on this skirt just scream Autumn and it's much more versatile than I initially thought it would be. It also ties in with the seventies trend but isn't too extreme which I like. As it's more of a statement piece, I paired it with a simple white shirt and layered my leather jacket and a faux fur stole on top as it was freezing in London. The boots I'm wearing are about a year or so old from Zara but they're one of the most comfortable pairs of heeled boots I own because of the track sole, which meant they were perfect for walking around the shops all day.
I'd already seen the LV exhibition (you can read my post about it here) but it was just as captivating the second time round. For the rest of the day we were doing research in various shops around Oxford Street, Dover Street, and Bond Street. Sounds ideal but it really does exhaust you - especially when you're not making any purchases to keep your spirits up.
Despite how tired I was when we got on the train to return home, it was nice to walk around more for a change instead of relying on the tube. You end up seeing so much that you'd have otherwise missed and discovering new places. Getting to know London better is definitely one of my favourite things so it ended up being a great day.

This is such a cute outfit! I love the skirt, especially. Being able to explore London (while also getting some work done) sounds like a great day, as well :) Though I can definitely see how a person could be pretty tired at the end of the day!

Thank you! x
ReplyDeleteI just bought the Zara patchwork skirt too and I agree it's a steal at that price (so much so I bought the chocolate coloured suede skirt too!!) I love the way you styled it – I styled mine with a black coat and berry accessories.
